During the marriage preparation workshop, each individual will complete a computer inventory of 156 basic questions on marriage that creates a unique profile of the couple’s issues, challenges, strengths and realities. Foccus enables a couple to own and shape their marriage preparation process by providing an outline for facilitating appropriate and on-target discussion and educational support to couples by a marriage preparation provider

The focus of the workshop is marriage education, not marriage therapy. Couples who are interested in ongoing couple work will be referred to a counsellor. All faith traditions are respected and honoured. Typically, the groups are made up of 10-12 engaged couples. Lunch and refreshments are provided for the Saturday session, and couples are encouraged to bring a snack to share for Sunday afternoon.
Couple and small group discussions are an important part of the program. Participants are invited to speak at their own level of comfort.
