We are currently searching for a candidate for the following position:
FAMILY COUNSELLOR
COMMENCING FEBRUARY 27, 2012
FULL TIME (35 HOURS PER WEEK)
This position is full time (35 hours per week) and requires a highly motivated, self-directed individual who is also able to work within a team environment to provide counselling in both our Employee Assistance Program and in our Individual and Family Counselling Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry a caseload of individuals, couples and families requiring counselling
- Provide critical incident debriefing to individuals and groups who have experienced a traumatic event
- Provide group counselling, wellness programs and other workshops/seminars as required
- Maintain standards of professional practice
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Social Work
- Membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Three to five years clinical counselling experience
- Critical Incident Stress Management Certificate
- Flexibility in work hours; evening hours are required
- Proficiency in French language is an asset
SALARY RANGE
2012 – 2013 Full-time Salary Range: $48,199 – $51,275 plus benefits

The Young Parent Worker is responsible for the care and guidance of the residents and day students involved in programming at St. Martin’s Manor.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of the residents and the building
- Provide support and guidance for the residents
- Provide life skills coaching including conflict resolution, problem solving
- Model and teach parenting skills and infant care
- Complete required documentation
- Ensure household chores are completed
Qualifications
- College diploma in Social Services/Child and Youth Worker or equivalent
- Experience with high-risk adolescents and infants
- Knowledge of the issues faced by pregnant and parenting teens
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as an active team member
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and First Aid
- Proficiency in French language an asset

Catholic Family Services offers infant and toddler care to young parents at St. Martin’s Manor. We are currently searching for a candidate for the following position in our Early Learning and Care Centre.
Early Childhood Educator
Full Time Contract (35 hours per week) – 1 Year MLOA
February 2012 – February 2013
The ECE is responsible for the planning and delivery of quality early learning and care programs, including relationship-based and interactive curriculum.
Service Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care to infants and toddlers in a supportive and nurturing environment
- Develop and implement quality early learning and interactive programming to promote healthy child development
- Develop and implement interactive parenting programs to support young parents/caregivers of children in all aspects of early childhood development and model positive parenting skills
- Provide information and client referrals to programs and services that are available for families and young children in the community
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and registration with College of Early Childhood Educators
- Knowledge of early learning, interactive programming, and child and youth development
- Ability to work with and build relationships with young, parenting and pregnant clients
- Excellent computer, communication and problem-solving skills Non-judgmental, caring, and empathetic with a respect for diversity in the workplace
- CPR and First Aid
- Successful completion of Police Clearance, Medical Clearance (including up to date immunizations)
- CPI Training (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) an asset
- Proficiency in French language an asset
Rate of Pay
Full time: $16.50/hour – $17.51/hour

The Casual ELCP Staff is responsible for interaction, care, program implementation, and supervision of infants and children in the Early Learning and Care Programs of Catholic Family Services.
Service Responsibilities
- Implement quality standards of early learning and care
- Ensure the health, safety and physical well-being of the children
- Promote and role model positive parenting attitudes, skills and behaviours
Qualifications
- Related Training or Experience – E.C.E. an asset
- Experience and knowledge of child development with children 0 – 11 years of age
- Exceptional age-appropriate behaviour management and interaction techniques
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team member and independently
- CPR and First Aid preferred
- Successful completion of Police Clearance
